» Wordpress.com Banned by International Judge
April 18th, 2008 Sammy RussoSo according to this post by Lorelle from Wordpress, a judge in Brazil is banning / blocking ALL WordPress.com blogs regardless of language because some idiot posted a YouTube video of a couple of having sex.
The material in question violates WordPress.com Terms of Service (if it doesn’t.. it should.. Im not a wordpress.com user so I’ve never read their TOS).
So Lorelle is asking.. why aren’t more people talking / blogging about the issue at hand? Why does it seem that no one is concerned?
My first question isn’t why aren’t people concerned.. my first question is… how did YouTube allow this video to go live in the first place? I’m almost certain adult content is not allowed on YouTube. So what’s up with that.
So why not ban YouTube instead? Right! Like that would ever happen. If I were the lawyers for WordPress.com.. I’d be appealing this and drag Google into it because that’s where the problem started.
To speculate on why more people aren’t blogging about it, my guess would be that a lot of WordPress.com users are probably saying to themselves.. so what if I can’t reach Brazil? Or maybe people view it like spam and blacklists.. use a free product and deal with being at the mercey of what others around you do. It’s guilt by association.
My 2 cents!

» GoDaddy Domains
March 6th, 2008 Sammy Russo
I buy all my domain names at GoDaddy.com. Why? Because they have the lowest prices on the internet for domain purchases, transfers and renewals. It just seems silly to me to buy them any where else. They also give you complete DNS control.
The reason I’m posting this is because I everyday I come across folks who have now idea about GoDaddy and their extremely affordable domain prices..
» Have Code Your Way in the Wordpress Editor
February 28th, 2008 Sammy RussoSo I was half way done building out a Wordpress CMS website in which I was using div class tags and inline styles inside the editor. What I soon realized is that Wordpress was removing all of code and breaking my pages. So I searched the Wordpress forums and sure enough I wasn’t alone.

February 22nd, 2008 Sammy RussoToday I’m testing BlogDesk. So far I like it… it gives me pretty much all the control I need as if I were in the Admin Panel.
I manually added a category via the interface so we’ll be testing whether or not we can create categories.
Here I’ve inserted a picture and you can adjust things in a code editor.
Now the moment of truth.. lets publish and see what happens

January 6th, 2008 Sammy RussoDreamweaver is my primary web development tool… I use it for writing code and for FTP.
